Kart Racing Madness

FSM’s Crispin Cannon, droppin’ the hammer | JCS photo

Each year the folks from Ski Salt Lake come to southern California and stoke out all the snow media. To do so they host an evening of four-wheeled fun at the famed K1 Speed indoor kartway track in Carlsbad.

Past attendees come from the top publications in snow media and include Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboard Mag, Snowboarder Magazine, Powder Magazine and, of course, FSM.

In addition a host of Utah resorts are represented such as Snowbird, Brighton, Solitude and Park City.

This year the So Cal crowd was a bit smaller due to the conflicting interests of the Billabong Design for Humanity party up in Hollywood, but for those wishing to avoid the two hour trek to LA, the kart racing provided all the highway action we desired.

After a some tight rounds of competition the results ended as follows:

Championship Round…

1. Joe Carlino, TWS
2. Chris Vestal, FSM
3. Adam Barker, Ski Utah

Consolation Round…

1. Dani Torp, Brighton Resort
2. James Sullivan, FSM
3. Jay Burke, Solitude Mt. Resort

Much thanks to Ski Salt Lake and K1 Speed for hosting the event.

Here’s a little motion picture replay of the drama:
